The first Canadian Style Paddling Rendezvous is here! A chance to meet and paddle with other CSP enthusiasts. Join the fun on a friendly day of paddling without the stress of a course or clinic. Share, play, learn!
When:
- Saturday, September 21, 2024, with wind/weather/additional play day of Sunday, September 22, 2024
- The main event is Saturday (with Sunday as a thunderstorm/wind day), but why not come for the day and stay for the weekend (Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon)?
Prerequisites: At a minimum, you are an ORCKA Level 4 paddler with CSP1a/b certification; Paddle Canada Intro Canadian Style Paddler; or an Intermediate American Freestyle Flatwater Paddler; or equivalent.
Activities include:
- Slalom/English gate challenges
- Funny, fun challenges (Rules? What rules?)
- Follow-the-leader manoeuvres
- Building the world’s longest canoe-pivot lines
- Canoe dance: demos, small-group practices, & all-canoe dance with an expert caller
- Informal paddles and workshops on-water and off.
WHERE:
- Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area,
- 468 Pinehurst Rd., RR 3, Ayr, ON N0B 1E0
- 120 km west of Toronto
- halfway between London, ON and Toronto
Cost:
- Gatehouse Day Use Fee: $8.50/$6.75 (Seniors)
- $10-$15/participant for expenses (collected on site)
- Camping fees extra (see below)
What to Bring:
- Your own canoe (but we have a few extra available)
- Your own food (snacks and hot beverages will be supplied)
Camping is Available:
- Please make your own reservations through the Grand River Conservation Authority’s online reservation system. Choose Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area here, and please book early to guarantee a spot.
